Red&White Sequences 1 and 2

2025
Earthenware, terracotta, iron
200x37x37cm

This terracotta sculpture belongs to the Red and White Sequences family. It is a series of elements that follow one after the other and are related to each other, as they all start from the same cylindrical shape made on a lathe. They are always deformed, creating ellipses of different sizes.

Inside some pieces there are other smaller cylinders. The white earthenware pieces are glazed with a satin finish and the terracotta pieces are unglazed, with a matt finish.

These sculptures are based on the idea of beadwork. As the name suggests, the pieces are like beads strung on an iron rod, creating vertical forms.
