Contained organic

2024
Terracotta and iron
150x35x35cm

This sculpture belongs to the organic family. It is made of terracotta and an iron base.

It's composed by a series of cylindrical pieces, placed so close together that they begin to deform each other, as if their proximity forced them to give way. The side walls collapse gently, creating unexpected undulations and curves, the result of friction and contact between the pieces.

It's an organic deformation, as if the cylinders breathe together or adapt to each other in a gesture of forced but inevitable coexistence.

Walking around the work, one can observe the small folds and squashes where the clay bodies touch each other, as if they were in a constant negotiation of space.
