Small sacks of brown fabric, earth, nylon thread, transparent plastic

This work is a tribute to Linosa. Linosa is a Sicilian island on which I spent three years of my life. It’s inspired by the funicular model Gaudí made to calculate the structure of the Sagrada Familia.

My intention was to represent the relief of the different volcanos creating a topographic profile based on a contour map. I composed this installation with small fabric sacks, similar to the ones that were used to keep the seeds, but filled with earth instead. It’s the island in three dimensions, floating in the room.
